The weather has turned even hotter and the sun is glorious. Chris is working under a gazebo to do the wall as shade is lacking round the back of the house. The guys are back to finish the Hempcrete off and they have been using hand placing to make as much use of the drop from the spray machine as possible. Its great as quiet a lot of drop takes place and it would be very very expensive otherwise. Hand placing involves putting up plastic shuttering and then mixing the drop and Lime binder together in a pan mixer. This is then pushed behind the shuttering and compacted slightly. After a few hours usually overnight it has set enough for the shuttering to come down and be used elsewhere. I quiet like the layers you can see with the hand placing but as they will be covered in plaster its a short lived thing. They are about to start the stable walls this week and so I have been removing the old lime from the wall so that only a solid surface remains when the Hempcrete is sprayed on... we don't want it falling off do we! The Heatpump has been installed...yippee we can have heat not that we need it at the moment!
