We now have a trench for the new electrical supply to the Chapel, if open reach were doing their job we would also put fibre in it but I won't hold my breath!!! The internet we can get is now available in the new caravan but is not great...I play...buffering.... buffering...e....r....! Nick prepared to begin moving soil from inside the chapel, this will open up a larger air space below the new floor and help with drying out the walls etc during wetter months. 90 tonnes of earth came out of the Chapel and Nick and Alex worked solidly at it for 3 days in all... ! Jan and I continued to sort the caravan out and it is beginning to look more homely and have proper plumbing, notice Jan's MFI Agent skills!

So sadly everyone has gone back to various home locations and Jan and I have moved into our new home!
Last week we levelled the mobile home or caravan which helps as the doors open and close now. We connected up the electrics and water as well as the sewer pipes, so we were all ready to go! The old kitchen was grotty and so had to come out.... AO came to the rescue with a fridge delivery next day, just as the advert says. Poor WiFi and mobile signal in Cardinham...open reach get your finger out and get me fibre!
Still going for walks like tonight make up for it. It was lovely to see Dave and Lynda, Dave gave roofing advice and Lynda enjoyed a look around the chapel before they set off for home. We caught them up at one point then Dave put his foot down and we were toast!
After the disappointment of yesterday and the rain making a delay in the delivery of the static caravan, today it made it to cardinham! KC Caravans arrived on time and ready to go. Keith, Brian and Michael set about unloading it over the wall from which I had removed the top layer of stone on Sunday and on to the grass at the front of the chapel. With great skill and a total understanding of caravan dynamics they executed the steps required to off load a 35ft long Cosalt caravan from what Keith called 'the small lorry'...! Having done that their attention turned to the space Nick had cut out on Saturday. This was going to need some modification to give space to swing the beast around if we were to get it anywhere near our intended resting place. So with shovels and forks we set too! After a while it was decided a bigger amount of digging than we could do in a day was required and a digger was called for, whilst we waited for that to arrive we sat inside the chapel out the rain! It's great to have family and friends around, Jan and I are so lucky. |
