Richard and Alex have started to put down the radon barrier and insulation in the main chapel. They make it look easy! Tony also finished the block wall between the bedroom and plant room in the stable. The sun continues to shine things are moving on and the leg is getting better too, we may even make the deadline for the underfloor heating to go down. Jo and Stuart have been great friends and enjoyed working outside all day. Jan tidied up some of the rubbish timber and we had another Fleming bonfire and a lovely evening with great friends and the wine box I got for my birthday...thank you all. Stuart even got his knees out!

Sun and cloudless. Dave, Ray and Luke continue to strip the roof. Jan and Jo have planted things and Stuart is getting ready to fill the heat pump base. Just a great day.
Not only do we have Dave, Ray and Luke here we also have the Hoard! Well three of them really and we put them to work straight away as you can see.
Dave and Ray and Luke turned up to strip, felt and re slate the main roof. A huge thank you to them as its not how most people spend Easter Sunday...up a roof stripping tiles for 12hrs!
Well done Jan. We have a fab patio complete with rain run off slope, that was actually planned so even more of an achievement! It is starting to make the steps I added before the leg mishap less weirdly stuck in the middle of nowhere, These will later have gravel and planting to make it more attractive. The heat pump conduits are through the wall ready for the deadline date. Hope I put them in the right place.
Having sorted out the gravel and doing a fantastic job, Jan is now making a patio. She has aches upon aches but is rising to the challenge and going for it. We have employed Colin to help us get on track and meet the underfloor heating 24th April and screed 2nd May deadlines.... He has been mixing cement, grouting the floor blocks in and doing the lifting and carrying that I can't do...many thanks Colin. I've managed to complete the last of the edges and filled the holes I made last week for waste pipes etc with lime cement. This gets us nearer to being able to call in building control to give us the Okay to lay the underfloor heating.
Having got the scaffolding up and before Dave arrives to strip the main roof we have had a visit from Heating Southwest, the people we chose to install our wood burner. They are putting in the lower half of the flue and will come back to add the top part once Dave and Ray have stripped off the slates and re-felted.
Before..... Sadly having ordered the gravel and me with a knackered leg, Jan is moving the gravel from the bags delivered the other day to the veggie patch. Richard, a friend from Millpool up the road also helped out.
Well, it's very frustrating but the leg is improving and I am just about getting the hang of crutches, so long as I am sitting I can do quite a bit...cleared out an air brick today! <a> We also had the Ridge beam installed in the Sunday School... <a> The scaffolders returned to put up the 2nd and 3rd lifts again taking about 50 mins to complete the whole thing! <a> <a> We have decided to get the main chapel roof replaced this side of the bat window! Having asked Dave if he could fit it in before the end of the month and having got the go ahead from the Bat man that we could replace the roof so long as it was done by the start of May, Dave had asked Cornwall Scaffolding to come and set up ready for him and Ray to start over the Easter weekend. They were the trucks we had just past on the road. We turned back and watched as 8 guys working in tight coordination erected in minutes the first lift of scaffolding, very impressive as we had only spoken to them yesterday!
