Today Nick and Alex completed the pond. I finished adding grass seed to all the lawns and two new recruits enlisted with the Duke of Cornwalls infantry!

As the landscaped areas approach a final shape, the grass seed has arrived. It is a finishing touch spread around at about a good handfull for every square metre. Hopefully it will grow up quickly and the dust and mud will be a thing of the past. Jan has been filling the wooden boxes with roses and clematis. They add to the finishing effect that the last few weeks work have seen. Cant wait for the tarmac to go down!
So over the weekend we had this idea Nick, any chance of a pond? No you don't want a pond Jan, a lot of looking after is a pond! We do Nick really just there, even bought the liner! No problem Jan, grrr form Alex, mutter mutter from Nick under breath type comments and probably even worse in their thoughts! But like the fab duo they are off they went to dig a hole!
Today has been dusty but worth it as Nick has moved the pink stone around the building and began levelling it. The whole place is statring to look amazing. Sadly last nights rain managed to find a way through the new kiltchen door threshold. Sorry James, another visit is required!
Following on from yesterdays masive push to clear up, the topsoil continues to be added to the garden. It does look great and will make a big difference against the stone. Nick and Alex are adding the drains at the front before they move the Pink stone.
Today has been great with the front garden starting to take shape. We had a delivery from St Marys quarry with the pink limestone arriving at 8am, the orange barriers were very useful to keep all safe and tidy. We also got Nick to move the stone that Jenny and Dave, lovely neighbours, did not want. We are placing it in one of the flowerbeds as a feature, a standing stone type thing! The garden is taking shape and Alex has just the tool to make putting the hedge plants back in. The orger drills a hole really quickly, place in the hedge then cover! minutes to do the whole row! So after paying for Nick to take away soli earlier in the year and then paying for more to be bought back recently, we now need just abit more!! We have today planted the plants we bought and they look great. Even Ruby next doors dog agrees!
The slate completes the look and as they have rounded the corners it should stop anyone catching themselves on harsh corners. Many thanks once again guys.
